The future of home internet has arrived and it’s called 5G Home. We worked with Verizon to visualize a Self Setup guide that lets customers install the new 5G Gateway on theirs own in just a few steps. The videos are available through the My Verizon App and allow users to get set up without ever having to get a technician involved. We set out to create a direct and easy to understand user experience by combining beautifully rendered product shots and clean 2D graphics.
In order to create a self-setup guide both easy on the eye and incredibly easy to use, we combined beautiful photoreal CG with clean considered 2D graphics. All of the home environments and product shots were rendered in CG to provide a virtual framework for contextualizing the product. On top of that, Relay Studio integrated a series of simple yet bold graphical animations to bring the 3D renderings to life and let the instructional aspects of the videos pull through.
In addition to the CG & 2D hybrid instructionals, we also enlisted the talents of live action director Daniel Fries to bring the same polished look & feel to the live action arena. All shooting was done at a stage in Brooklyn, adhering to Covid protocols. The spokesperson added an upbeat, natural charm to mesh with the clean, bright design aesthetic. And the result of all this—the marriage of tone across mediums, the intentional set design, the dialed performance of the Verizon personality—contributed to the full-circle nature of the 360 campaign.
